1 〔埋葬する〕 bury; inter; entomb; inhume; lay 《sb's body》 to rest.

●遺骨を手厚く葬る bury sb's bones with all due respect

・彼は 86 歳の生涯を閉じ青山墓地に葬られた. The curtain came down on his life of 86 years and he was buried in Aoyama Cemetery.

2 〔人目につかないように隠す〕 consign 《a matter》 to oblivion; 〔握りつぶす〕 shelve; kill; smother; 〔表に出られないようにする〕 hush up; cover up.
